THE FALL

THE FALL

You left your voice

On my answering machine

A cryptic message

Nestled in between

Two creditors calling,

Soon I was falling

You left your face

On my soldering iron

And fused your features

Deep into my mind

Then I was falling,

Yes I was falling

So I started up

On that steep steep climb

With you and your friends

Your partners in crime

But I was blind

When I reached the top

And I didn't see the gap

Or the deep, deep drop

That I would fall in,

Soon I was falling

You left your heart

With a man named Faust

He said he'd mind it

While you were out

Watching me falling,

While I was falling

So I climbed up, that greasy tower

But I'd hit the deck, in less than an hour

I tried to reach for your outstretched arm

But you were reciting the 23rd Psalm

As I was falling, While I was falling

You left your scent on my unmade bed,

Those toxic fumes rustled through my head

As I was falling, While I was falling

Yes I was falling, And I had fallen
