The Music page is divided into the following sub-pages:

SELF TORT'S CD

Self Tort's CD, 'N.I.C', is now released and available for purchase. On this page you can link to Self Tort's pages at mixposure.com where you can hear the individual tracks of the CD and, in some cases, even download them for free. Details of how to purchase the CD are also posted there.

KIDS' SONGS

Self Tort has written and recorded three songs for children. One of the songs 'Naughty Wall' was placed 7th in the Australian Songwriting Association's 2005 National Songwriting Competition in the Children's genre. Again, on this page you can link to mixposure to hear the songs. All three children's songs are presently available for free download.

COLLABORATIONS

I have, since joining mixposure.com, been involved in a number of collaborations with other mixpo members over the internet. These collabs have been an absolute blast, and an eye-opener for me and have given me the opportunity of playing with some incredibly talented writers and performers including the amazing Belgian saxophonist Alexis Van Eeckhout, guitarist extraordinaire, Robert Thorpe (better known as 'RedeyeC'), songwriter and self-confessed Dylan tragic, Lex Zaleta, and the wonderfully talented Japanese artist, and my dear friend, Shyonen.

On this page you can link to listen to the collaborations. Hopefully there will be more in the not too distant future.

COVERS

Self Tort continues to perform live as a 'one man band' with a mix of covers and originals. He performs on the first Friday of each month at the Mortdale Hotel. On this page you will find samples of some of the most popular 'covers' that Self Tort performs, including some standards like Roy Orbison's 'Crying', The Who's 'Substitute', 'Mustang Sally', Joe Cocker's 'The Letter', Van Morrison's 'Have I Told You Lately that I Love You', plus some less well known tracks such as The Loved One's 'The Loved One' and Jack Bruce's 'Theme From An Imaginary Western'. The tracks on this page were recorded at Sound Dog Studios, Artarmon.

HOME RECORDED DEMOS

Here you get to hear Self Tort's work in progress. My tracks undergo sensational production at the hands of Stewart Havill of Sound Dog Recording Studios. Before they get there, they are recorded on my Zoom 8 track in a fairly primitive form. On this page you will find, from time to time, samples of what I'm working on before it undergoes Stewart's magical process.

MIDI FILES

I have uploaded midi files of some of my original material on this page. The files that are up at the moment are a bit dated and have had a lot of extra work done on them. I hope to update them in the near future.

There are no midi files of other artists on this site.

COVER DEMOS

This page contains 'home demo' versions of other cover versions from Self Tort's live repertoire. They're not studio quality and my home recording production techniques are fairly limited.

VIDEOS

This page contains some short video clips of a performance at the Crazy Bull Restaurant at Tugun on the Gold Coast in July, 2003. I was joined in the performance by Dennis Lawrenson on bass. I hope to arrange for some more videos to be taken of future live performances and will post them in due course.

PICTURES

In this section you can see pictures of Self Tort, former band members of Self Tort, and various odds and sods. The section is presently divided into Sirrah photos, Mid Life Crisis photos, shots of Self Tort live at the Mortdale Hotel plus the 50th Birthday Bash, the 2005 ASA SONGWRITING AWARDS and the 2003 Jack Bruce Congress.

LIVE REPERTOIRE

On this page I've tried to give a indication of the range of Self Tort's live repertoire. Time and space don't permit the full repertoire being set out as there's over 1,000 songs. If you're looking to book Self Tort have a look at the repertoire and if there are any favourites there that you'd like played, they will be played. Even if your favourite is not listed, it may still be in the repertoire, and, even if it's not, if you give me enough notice I will do my best to have it ready by the time of the gig.

LYRICS

This section contains the lyrics to Self Tort's original material including all tracks from the 'N.I.C' CD, the three kids' songs, plus a few extras.

INFLUENCES

This section is dedicated to the artists that have influenced Self Tort. At the moment, only the Jack Bruce section is up and running.

OPINION

This is an opportunity for me to get things off my chest. It presently consists of a few reviews and an article I had published in the Sydney Morning Herald in March, 2005. Now that I've got the site up and running again, I will take the opportunity more often to have a shout about something.
