SIRRAH
GRAHAM DOUST

Graham Doust, aka 'Raspo', drummer with Sirrah in the 1970s. The photograph was taken at bass player Peter Scott's house at Sackville, near Windsor. We had a residency at the Australiana Hotel at Wilberforce and at that time used to practice on Peter's back verandah.
Graham has continued to be involved in music as well as pursuing his career as an educator, forming bands in various country towns in which he has taught. He is presently a member of 'The Basic Principals' a band in which all members are school principals. The band is based in Coffs Harbour and can be booked via Graham on 0414-711951.
Despite being an exceptional drummer, Graham has in recent years concentrated on his guitar and vocal work. He wrote THE DICTATOR which is sampled on the SIRRAH page. Other samples of Sirrah's work appear on that page. Geographical locations limit my contact with Graham although we still see each other a couple of times a year. On a visit to Sydney in late 2001 Graham came to the Mortdale pub and helped me out on a number of songs.
Graham and I met through Graham's brother Terry who was a schoolfriend of mine from from 1963, who followed a similar career path to me, who still plays soccer and cricket with me and who remains one of my closest and dearest friends. Our families are very close. Terry's daughter Catherine is following her father's career path, whilst his son Matthew appears more destined to follow his uncle Graham's love of music.
Graham is presently the Principal of Narranga Primary School, near Coffs Harbour.
