NEWSLETTER 27 AUGUST, 2005

The CD is not quite there yet. I returned to the studio to make some changes to 'Tonight' in early August and am really pleased with the result. It now flows more and I've added some backing vocals that give it more of a lift.

I was convinced that recording was now completed, but relistended to Six O'Clock Swill and thought it could do with the vocals being redone. It was the first track recorded and some of the lyrics are lost. Might also tidy up the guitar part.

The two links that are above are to my pages on an internet mp3 site called 'Mixposure'. I've got 5 songs from the upcoming album on that site at the moment, together with 'I Hate Homework', the original version of Tonight, and a couple of very rough demos of 'Newrybar' (a jazz instrumental) and 'Morocco' (an attempt at new age/world music).

All of the completed songs have charted in the Mixposure charts with 'Tonight', 'Midlife Crisis', 'Best Man' and 'Get it Right This Time' all spending time in the top 100.

Six O'Clock Swill is currently at number 3 of the overall charts and 'Self Tort' is presently in the Top 10 artists of the month.

If you could spare the time to go to Mixposure and have a listen to any of my tracks, but at least 'Six O'Clock Swill' I'm sure we can get one of my tracks to the number 1 position. Given that there are over 10,000 songs uploaded on the site that would be a great buzz.

Don't forget Friday 2 September, 2005 with Self Tort performing at the Mortdale Hotel in the 'non smoking' room,

Cheers for now.
